Van and bus parking

We have an eight seater courtesy van available for transfer between major venues and the EIT.  This can be booked on 0274401654.  A gold coin donation would be expected.

The distance from EIT to the Mission Winery is walkable (about 2 km northwards, so call it 25 minutes.) But that would depend on the weather, and impedimenta such as a tuba and sheet music, a spare uniform, and your friends. Best arrange for most members to go on your band's bus, and the van copes with the extras.

Within the city, it is only a shortish walk from the Municipal Theatre to the Century Theatre. This is about the same distance as the Street March, but you are allowed to window shop, avoid the rain if any, and stop for a chat.

Mission Winery - Wednesday Evening.

The entrance is off Church Road. Drive or even walk down the avenue opposite Mission Road. Guides and signage will be available to describe parking places for cars and vans.

Buses will have to turn at the Winery rather than continue on to the Old Seminary Building. Within the OSB, guides will tell you where the Chapel is, or if you are going to a function, where that room is.

Municipal Theatre - A and B Grades.

There will be ten bus parks reserved on Tennyson St on the side opposite the Municipal theatre. Buses can park there but not on the side adjacent to the theatre where only drop-offs are permitted.

Century Theatre. - C and D Grades

Herschell Street, outside Century Theatre venue, will be closed to ordinary traffic for the duration of the C & D Grade contests including the Street March. Only band buses and mini-vans may use this street. On the map below, it is the red striped road beside the Century Theatre [C].

Street March  - Friday afternoon

Parade map.Marchers are to be dropped off on the seawards (eastern) side of  Dalton Street, south of Station Street.  Buses should continue southwards. Some may loop via Marine Parade to park by the Century Theatre. Others can turn right along Raffles St and park on the railway land. There is also parking for buses by the Municipal Theatre. We expect to be able to provide maps for drivers before Friday.

Bands having left the bus need to move to the assembly point in Station Street. (See the map below.)  The end of the Street March is quite near the Century Theatre. As that venue is closed to traffic except buses, it will be a convenient pick-up point for the majority of bands. A few A or B Grade bands may instead have opted to walk to the Municipal Theatre. Decide in advance or get a driver's cell phone number.

Drivers should arrange to collect their bands after the Street March either at the Municipal or the Century as appropriate.
